When celebrities shop for a luxury car, most of them end up in a Mercedes-Benz, not a Rolls-Royce or a Ferrari. In July 2026, we ranked which brands the world’s biggest stars actually choose to drive.
Mercedes-Benz has more celebrity owners than any other luxury brand, with everyone from Kylie Jenner to Cristiano Ronaldo driving one. When celebrities want to spend serious money on a car, they buy a Bugatti, with the Veyron alone costing close to $2 million. Land Rover has royal approval, with Prince William, Kate Middleton, and 18 other famous names choosing it over sports cars.
Here’s what we found:
- Mercedes-Benz leads with 34 confirmed celebrity owners
- Ferrari ranks second with 27 famous owners and the most media mentions
- Rolls-Royce places third, led by the Cullinan and Phantom
- Lamborghini skews toward music and entertainment stars
- Bugatti is the go-to brand for seven-figure car spenders

Mercedes-Benz leads with 34 confirmed celebrity owners

Mercedes-Benz has more confirmed celebrity owners than any other luxury car brand. A total of 34 famous names have been driving it, with the G-Wagon (G63) standing out as the clear favorite. At around $180K, the G-Wagon is relatively cheaper than competitors like Rolls-Royce, which likely explains why its owner list spans such a wide range of celebrities — from athletes like Lewis Hamilton and Cristiano Ronaldo to entertainers like Travis Scott and Cardi B.
Top owners linked to the brand include Jay Leno, Kylie Jenner, Khloé Kardashian, Lewis Hamilton, and Cristiano Ronaldo. Total media mentions sit at 15,100.
Ferrari ranks second with 27 famous owners

Ferrari comes in second place with 27 confirmed celebrity owners. The Italian manufacturer is clearly a press favorite, with over 60K mentions across international media — more than Rolls-Royce and Lamborghini combined. Ferrari’s roster includes Formula 1 drivers like Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc alongside entertainers like Gordon Ramsay and Kylie Jenner. The most commonly owned models are the 458 and 488, priced at around $280K.
Rolls-Royce places third with Cullinan and Phantom favorites

Rolls-Royce ranks third, with 24 documented celebrity owners. The brand’s most popular models are the Cullinan and Phantom, with an average price tag of $450K. Its owner list includes everyone from Jay-Z and Beyoncé to Drake, Kim Kardashian, and Justin Bieber. The brand is also popular among pro athletes, with Floyd Mayweather, Cristiano Ronaldo, and David Beckham all linked to a Rolls in the garage.
Lamborghini skews toward music and entertainment stars

Lamborghini comes in fourth with 23 confirmed celebrity owners, headlined by Kylie Jenner, Kanye West, Travis Scott, and Nicki Minaj. The brand’s signature model in celebrity circles is the Aventador, which retails at around $350K. Unlike Mercedes or Land Rover, Lamborghini’s appeal skews toward music and entertainment figures, with rappers and pop stars making up a big share of the documented owner list. Bugatti is the go-to brand for seven-figure car spenders

Bugatti rounds out the top five with 20 confirmed celebrity owners. The brand is the go-to choice for those willing to spend the most. The Veyron, which is the most popular Bugatti model in the study, sells for $1.9 million — over four times the cost of a Rolls-Royce Cullinan and more than ten times that of a Porsche 911. The A-listers owning Bugatti include Cristiano Ronaldo, Tom Brady, Jay-Z, Drake, and Travis Scott. What the data says about status vs. sticker price
Our take:
The G-Wagon’s story is worth knowing. It was originally commissioned in the 1970s as a military vehicle. The Shah of Iran ordered 20K units before being deposed, and it spent its early years in the Swiss, Norwegian, and Argentinian armies. Mercedes didn’t officially bring it to the American market until 2002, but when it did, it quickly flipped from army truck to status symbol. Within a few years of landing in the US, it was already showing up in celebrity garages. And it seems that military DNA is actually part of its appeal.
The ranking also shows a clear split: Mercedes wins on breadth of celebrity ownership at a relatively accessible luxury price, while Bugatti and Rolls-Royce win when the question is how much stars are willing to spend on a single car.

Methodology
In July 2026, we looked at luxury car brands to find which ones have the most celebrity owners. We went through automotive media, manufacturer write-ups, and documented sightings to confirm who actually owns what, with every named celebrity tied to a citable source. Then we ranked brands by their total number of verified famous owners, and noted the most popular model for each brand and what it costs on the open market.
Owner counts reflect publicly documented ownership and sightings and can change as new reports appear. Market values are approximate averages for the most popular celebrity-linked model in each brand and can vary with trim, condition, and region.
