In 1931, not long before he died, the inventor [Edison] told his friends Henry Ford and Harvey Firestone: “I’d put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power! I hope we don’t have to wait until oil and coal run out before we tackle that.”
How many kilowatts can we capture?

Perpetual Kinetic energy exists all around us but in most circumstances it is not economical to harness. A gym environment is a rare case which presents the infrastructure to capture a large amount of kinetics with little up front cost. The biggest hurdle is the packaging and processing of this energy to send it back to the grid. This has to be accomplished while interfacing with the exercise equipment preserving full functionality. In the last few years great advances have been made to make this not only possible but profitable. The first and arguably most crucial paradigm shift has been the sense of urgency. Utility companies are now willing to pay retail prices for RE coming into their grid and even facilitate the monitoring process.
