The D-pillar is the vertical structural member at the back of a vehicle’s cabin, located between the rear side windows. It provides support for the rear window and reinforces the vehicle’s structure. In many cars, the D-pillar also houses the car’s rear wiper motor. The D-pillar is also sometimes referred to as the C-pillar, although this term is more commonly used to describe the vertical member between the front and rear doors.

The D-pillar is an important structural element of a car’s body. It helps to support the weight of the rear window and reinforces the vehicle’s overall structure. In many cars, the D-pillar also houses the car’s rear wiper motor. This makes it an important component of a car’s safety and security features.

While the D-pillar is typically a strong and durable part of a car’s construction, it can be damaged in a collision. In some cases, the entire pillar may need to be replaced. If you are involved in a car accident, it is important to have your vehicle evaluated by a qualified mechanic to ensure that all of its parts are in good working condition.
