A tire’s bladder is a rubber or synthetic material that encases the air inside the tire. The bladder helps to maintain the tire’s shape and protect the air pressure inside. A tire with a damaged or leaking bladder will lose air and eventually go flat. To check for a damaged bladder, look for bulges, cracks, or other damage to the tire’s surface.
