A water pump in a car helps to circulate the coolant throughout the engine and prevent it from overheating. The water pump is driven by a belt that is connected to the crankshaft of the engine. As the engine runs, the water pump also turns and circulates the coolant. If the water pump fails, then the engine can overheat and cause serious damage. It is important to have a properly working water pump in order to keep your engine from overheating. If you notice that your car’s water pump is not working properly, then you should take it to a mechanic to have it repaired or replaced.
