A tie rod is a component of a car’s suspension system that helps to link the wheel hubs to the steering mechanism. The tie rod is usually made of metal and consists of two parts: an inner rod and an outer sleeve. The inner rod is connected to the wheel hub, while the outer sleeve is connected to the steering mechanism. Together, these two parts help to transfer force from the steering wheel to the wheels, allowing the car to turn. Over time, tie rods can become worn or damaged, which can cause problems with steering. That’s why it’s important to have them inspected regularly and replaced if necessary.
